The bare-chested feminists who engage in provocative protests targeted the far-right candidate for French president Marine Le Pen with a protest at a church in north-western France in this week's roundup of news from around the globe. Arresting members of the Femen group typically ends up creating news-attracting photos and this time was no different.

In other protests, a gas-tank explosion caught a man on fire in violent protests against Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro in Caracas. The Associated Press reported on Wednesday that at least 35 people have died in the political turmoil that has gripped Venezuela for a month. Hundreds more have been injured.
