The UK's best beach is a four hour drive from London.

Blackpool Sands has been crowned the best beach in the UK by Conde Nast Traveller magazine. But don't let the name fool you - it's not actually in Blackpool, but much closer to home.

Nestled in South Devon, Blackpool Sands is tucked away in a sheltered bay encircled by cliffs, making it a favourite spot for swimmers, sunbathers and families alike.

Described as 'almost reminiscent of the Amalfi Coast' by Conde Nast Traveller, the beach will soon be home to a fully refurbished takeaway with indoor seating, set to open in early April. In the meantime, visitors can savour locally roasted coffee, cakes, pies and pasties from the Blackpool Sands Beach Shack.

Blackpool Sands is a natural beauty spot, surrounded by lush woods and rolling hills, perfect for those who love to hike and explore.
