ITV Coronation Street actress says 'missed you' as co-star returns to soap
The actress supported her co-star on the ITV show
Samia Longchambon has issued an update as Jack P. Shepherd has returned to set following his stint on Celebrity Big Brother. The David Platt actor triumphed on the ITV reality show as he took home the Big Brother crown, closely followed by RuPaul's Drag Race star Danny Beard.
In a recent post on Instagram, Samia, who has portrayed Maria Windass (Connor) since 2000, wrote: "He’s back.. and full of hot tea! Missed ya @jackpshepherd88 #winner."
The ironic 'tea' joke comes just after Jack went viral for how often he drinks cups of tea. While on the ITV show, he revealed he often has more than 20 cups of tea each day, which sparked a huge debate online as he said he needs to use two teabags per cup.
Fans of Coronation Street took to the comments on Samia's post as they were glad to see the actor finally back on set, who has been absent from recent episodes while he took part in the reality series.
A user named Amy wrote: "Welcome back winner", while Lewis said: "Yeah well done Jack. You were just great. Love tea myself xxxx." Karen added: "Huge well done to Jack" while another user said: "Fantastic."
The actress did not shy away from showing her support throughout Jack's time in the Celebrity Big Brother house. During his first week on the show, viewers found out that Jack received the most nominations to be evicted from the house.
Jack was on the receiving end of votes from many housemates, including singer Chesney Hawkes, past CBBC host Angellica Bell, drag artist Danny Beard, comedian Donna Preston, TOWIE star Ella Rae Wise, and actress Patsy Palmer. Fans took to social media following the nomination, as it was then up to the public vote to decide if he remained in the house.
Samia Longchambon has known Jack for a long time, with both being long-standing characters on Coronation Street. She took to Instagram to share a selfie of the two.
The caption read: "Didn’t think I’d be posting this just yet but drop a vote for our @jackpshepherd88 to stay in the @bbuk house a bit longer please guys… We definitely haven’t seen the best of him yet!!"
Fans of the soap star were quick to share their support. Colson Smith, who co-hosts a podcast with Jack responded with a series of red heart emojis.
Tony Maudsley, who plays the role of George Shuttleworth on the Cobbles also shared a message of support to his social media platforms. He posted: "Time to get voting for our boy Jack!! He was never going to go in there and fight for air time. That's just not him.
One fan "couldn't believe' he was up for eviction and revealed he would be getting their votes. It turns out Coronation Street fans arrived in full force to back their very own David Platt as he went on to achieve first place in the final last week.
